Round mica band heaters can be found in several types of dimension, wattage, voltages and material. Mica band heaters are an inexpensive industrial heating solution that surrounds pipes and tubes that require external indirect heating.
Pipe heating, drum heating, barrel heating normally used for oils, lubricants or any other circular applications. Band heaters use electric heating elements (NiCr wire) to heat-up the external surface of drums or pipes for a gradual heat transfer.
Industrial band heaters can be made with terminal boxes or moisture resistant terminal boxes that protect terminations and have the option of a thermostat or thermocouple digital temperature controllers to help control and regulate an applied heat.

Ceramic Band Heaters design consist of a helically wound resistance coil made from 80/20 nichrome wire, evenly stretched and precisely strung through a specially designed ceramic insulating bricks forming a flexible heating mat. The coil of the wire is then passed through the ceramics to get a bed of the ceramics .The size of the bed depends on the dia and the width of the heater. This bed is then fitted into S.S. 304 sheath after Al.foil and insulation. The element wire is terminated on a brass strip from where the lead wires are taken out further. These strips are covered with a ventilated terminal box. The heater is provided with a clamping device, which has a Cap Screw for easy and even tightening of the heater on the barrel.
